Greyhounds make "greyt" pets
Welcome to IWaG!
Greyhound Adoption, Education and Support
I Want A Greyhound (IWaG) Inc. is a registered not-for-profit greyhound rehoming, education and support charity.
IWaG’s mission is to find forever pet homes for all greyhounds placed in our care.
The founders, members, volunteers and supporters of IWaG are passionate about greyhound welfare. We are opposed to the harming of any animal and the use of animals for entertainment.
One of IWaG’s core philosophies is that we will not harm other animals while undertaking our greyhound rehoming work. Examples include a prohibition on the sale of animal products.
As well as rehoming, we believe it is important to focus on educating the wider community about the welfare of greyhounds by building a strong, supportive greyhound loving community and network of partners.
One of the best ways to help support IWaG is by making a regular monthly donation. Because of your generosity, we can plan confidently and budget more effectively. Donations $2 and over are tax-deductible and we will provide you with an annual receipt summary for your tax purposes. Check out our Regular Giving page here to find out more!

Hound of the Month
Are you Billy’s forever human?
Forever affectionate, Billy loves to lean against humans, wants to be a snuggly hot water bottle when you’re feeling unwell and knows how to make a XXL dog bed look small with his big roach. A talented artist, Billy’s nose paintings on the car window rival Van Gough, whilst his chattiness would never leave you talking to yourself.
A polite socialiser, Billy would enjoy a home with or without a hound sibling, but absolutely needs a human to snuggle with. His foster humans say, "Billy hates wearing jackets but expects to be tucked into bed every night like a small child. He won't go to sleep until he gets a goodnight hug, a kiss on the head and told goodnight.”
If Billy is the hound you’ve been waiting for, please give IWaG a call on 0421 298 970 or complete the adoption enquiry form.
Hounds in homes
Sweet brindle cow hound Tora is officially a foster fail!
When Tora first arrived at her forever home, she was scared of the smooth floor she was walking on. However, with time and yoga mats now placed on the floor for her, she has not one care in the world for the scary smooth floor.
This cheeky girl has a playful personality which shows when her humans stop petting her as she likes to playfully bark to let them know please continue.
“Tora has been a bundle of joy since we fostered her. She likes to follow us around the house and also likes to chase us to play. When Tora's happy she bounces around” says Mum, Paige.
