The I Want A Greyhound, Inc. (IWaG) website is operated by IWaG.
IWaG is fully committed to protecting everyone’s right to privacy. The organisation takes all reasonable steps to ensure the responsible management of personal information collected, stored and used from all stakeholders. The organisation complies with both federal and state laws that govern management of personal information.
IWaG’s information collection opportunities
IWaG may collect personal information from stakeholders who wish to interact with the organisation. Generally, the types of personal information collected by the organisation include:

A - Volunteer for IWaG enquiries and applications
B - Greyhound foster care enquiries and applications
C - Greyhound adoption, enquiries and applications
D - 3rd party fundraiser
E - Sponsor or purchaser of goods or services
F - Entities that wish IWaG to rehome greyhounds
G - Donators that wish a physical receipt: either handwritten at events or emailed after a bank deposit, physical or electronic
2: Other information that is collected and stored by IWaG is business information that is used for sourcing:
A - Equipment for events
B - Greyhound equipment (muzzles, beds etc)
C - Supplies
D - Businesses that wish IWaG to rehome greyhounds (veterinary services)
E - Veterinary services that IWaG use
F - Medical suppliers
How information is collected
Section 1:
1. A to C: via email, Australia post, phone call, or enquiry form completed at IWaG events
1. D to F: via email or Australia post, phone call: in which an email detailing conversation is requested
1. G: either face to face for an event receipt to be issued, or via email for an electronic or physical receipt after bank deposit
Section 2:
This information is collected online via IWaG personnel.
Excluding 2.D:
This information can be collected via a phone call.
With physical papers, to be collected at time of greyhound collection.
How is this information to be stored?
IWaG will take reasonable steps to protect personal information we hold from misuse, interference and loss, as well as unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
For example, personal information may be subject to access restrictions. We have in place information protection procedures, including (where appropriate):

password protection of electronic accounts

password protection of electronic applications

the provision of information to staff on a ‘need to know’ basis.
IWaG will take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify personal information it holds if the information is no longer required.

Internal Information Management Processes

All information that is physical paperwork must be converted to an electronic format that is stored on the IWaG Google Drive and backed up on the portable hard drive.

Information that has been collected at events must be passed on to the Foster and Adoption Coordinator, or Event Coordinator.

Hand written receipts will be scanned and sent via email directly to the IWaG Treasurer, with the physical book being sent at either end of financial year or end of receipt book, whichever comes first.

This information will be physically stored with the Treasurer, backed up on the IWaG Google Drive and on the portable hard drive

Receipt information may be provided to the auditor if requested.

All physical paperwork will be kept safe and secure by the approved member that has received it. The approved member will scan and email it to the relevant person, via the IWaG email.

Once it has been received by the relevant person, they will then place it in the relevant folder on the IWaG Google Drive.

All physical paperwork must be sent at the end of each month to the relevant department head, for safe storage.

Only approved members will have access to the IWaG Google Drive, emails and physical paperwork files.

If there is a physical breach of these privacy laws, the member will be instantly dismissed from IWaG. If there is an electronic breach of these privacy laws, the member will be instantly dismissed from IWaG, and all electronic passwords will be changed immediately.

The Management Committee will then assess breach and contact any parties that have been affected and will work to rectify the breach; this will include review on our policy and training.
